The feminine lens is fascinating. With popular culture across most of the western world focused on and aimed at male desire. Given my fascination with stories, my passion for experience and adventure and finding pleasure disappearing into other worlds, it should come as no surprise I'm a Swifty. Not to mention how much joy I get from following my favourite artists career and business strategy. When the The Tortured Poets Department was announced, I almost had a fit. Since then I have been following our Chairmans Address's closely.
What I want for the album, in the sense of genre, may be a bit controversial but directly aligns with my love for the story telling that draws me to Taylor Swifts music in the first place. We all like to discuss how unique this depth of experience and expression is within the pop genre. But blues. A sultry ELECTRIC Blues bringing a feminine perspective back to the medium after decades of being bastardization by MAWM. If we follow the Chairman's direction we can look to the golden age of music, invention and modern wisdom for our course notes. Similarly, I believe this album is about stories - so here are the current titles i believe the chairman is trying to draw our attention two. Titles that center the feminine experience, the unspoken nature of relationships and our complex multi facetted natures.
Anyone can use any book name, that is true. We learned that the hard way with the tortured poet tiktok account. However, to ere on the side of caution I cant take the risk with the eggs egg-ing and TTPD a week away! Have fun swifterhood!
At first I had no reason to expect there to be a connection here. At first. But in the work I do I was immediately reminded of an author and fellow advocate in sexual health and social harm I absolutely love. Lucy Bloom, is also a queer person living in Sydney and has been outspoken in their advocacy of woman and girls safety.
This release gave me tingles. Could this be a pattern? I wasn't personally familiar with The Bolter. The story of the rebellious life of Idina Sackville told by her great granddaughter, Frances Osborne, as they go on a journey of discovery of so called scandal and definite mystery, seemingly together.
Ok. This it - This is the pattern. The Albatross, incidentally, a symbol of both the luck that success takes and the burdens of the deep, creative soul. Who can relate? Also set in Australia, Tay must have really been looking forward to visiting us and finding some common ground prior to touring *clown face*. Written by Nina Wan, this too

Also set in Australia, Tay must have really been looking forward to visiting us and finding some common ground prior to touring *clown face*. Written by Nina Wan, this too tells the story of an imperfect woman trying to make her world as pleasant and focused as possible. While navigating consequences, life changing decisions and some shit luck.
And with THE BLACK DOG, the chairman has announced we have all the stories to complete the upcoming TTPD curricula. This book is written by multi award winning comedian, based in the UK (Scotland). And with THE BLACK DOG, the chairman has announced we have all the stories to complete the upcoming TTPD curricula. This book is written by multi award winning comedian, based in the UK (Scotland). The only tortured man in the tortured poets course work it is safe to say it must be a good read. Interestingly enough to mention, this story also contains themes of golf, and centers on the lessons we learn through living with, and losing the only companions that ever really understand us. Our pets. For our main character it is no surprise this "life affirming" take on depression centers the grounding presence of his black lab as life begins to spiral.
The trend continues within the main track list of the TTPD with the Alchemist, and The Smallest Man (linked below). This book is proclaimed as a timeless tale of magic and beauty. But as Paulo usually does, he has wrapped this artefact up with the lessons and clarity I adore of all fables.

Sitting hear post read, It is definitely a thrill thinking about all the ways this source reference impacted, not just her songwriting, but her strategy, decision making and personal values. Whether or not it applies, wonder of the world, belief in fellow humans and a big heart seems to be something we share.
Bookstores are saturated with war themed books focusing on localised, historical and international perspective. I'm telling you this to justify the 85% confidence I have in this being the artifact. Bookstores are saturated with war themed books focusing on localised, historical and international perspective. I'm telling you this to justify the 85% confidence I have in this being the artifact. This title stood out from the rest though as a true artifact, combining, people, places and the significance of WW1. It reads "Each story, lovingly crafted, shows a different facet of war in the same way that each artifact reflects something different about the time", collectively creating new artifact illustrated by Jim kay. Are the objects these stories are built around, also planted like, the violets, the letter and the violence through TS's Lyrics?
At first I thought this Artifact was an reference to The Lake by Yasunari Kawabata. Being an avid fan of Japanese folklore I believed this was almost a perfect fit in context and themes, being described as "similar to those of Japanese associative poetry, with each chapter having coherence and fluidity between them". Being an avid fan of Japanese folklore I believed this was almost a perfect fit in context and themes, being described as "similar to those of Japanese associative poetry, with each chapter having coherence and fluidity between them". Spelled with an 'S' in the title I couldn't quite settle. But then I found a thrilling and angsty romantic trilogy and it all fell into place. Showcasing similar themes of loneliness, exile, identity and love, I believe these three stories makes the counterpart artifact for THE LAKES. Although, i know ill be reading Yasunari Kawabata's too.

Given the themes, I personally doubt the only invisible string tying this novel to TS's works is sharing the namesake Rebecca with the former owner of THE HOLIDAY HOUSE. Listening closely to the themes that tie FOLKLORE together, I suspect this reference source ties into more than a song or two!
Blue Blood. Craig Uger, was published the year of the birth of TS. However, it hasn't ran any publishing in a few decades and resale copies are going for north of 1000USD post LOVER release. As we well know, this is a well know artifact that inspired one of my all time favorite songs cementing my theory in TS and I share a love for cultural anthropology. The patterns, similarities and convergence of people, places and time. This story is all the more rich as the coincidences that follow holiday house. If you do have a copy sitting around, I would love to see it - Untill then, this is the next best artefact I could find, based on another notable business woman of America.
We are about showcasing, uplifting and promoting woman's stories here. I think that is one of the reason that I fell in love with Taylor Swifts brand. Although, we will never know how many direct reference pieces where used to inspire which songs. However, As I keep digging the themes I'm linking here seem to be paying off.

And if it turns out to be the death of me in the afterglow, I'm leaning into my girls uplifting girls. Sharing our, voices, our stories and our resources! ENJOY!
This story is more of a fable than it is an anthology. Discussing the tenants of life, patience, respect, BREATH.... The moral of this reference piece is reminds of the art of Bushido crossed with the Book of TOU. Full of beautiful analogies, metaphors and illustrations you are able to relate easily to the lessons and principals. And maybe even recognize them littered through our favorite lyrics of THE ARCHER. I also apologies for burying the lead here but our friend Paulo published this after he wrote award winning THE ALCHAMIST
